Your Co-worker, the Robot.

Researchers at Rethink Robotics have recently designed a robot to work alongside people. With the name Baxter, this cutting edge robot knows if a human is in the room and will then slow down his movements. Baxter's simplicity allows regular people to train him to do things like inspect, sort, and assemble products. With a price tag of $22,000 Baxter cost companies the same over its lifetime as paying humans just $4 an hour. What does this mean for our generation going into the working business? Baxter could possibly be your boss when you get a job or, he could even be your best friend at work. With technology advancing like crazy, Baxter could change to Dexter who is even more advanced within the next ten years. For today, companies will be using Baxter for cheap labor and his simplicity.

  1. That was really interesting! I liked how you never wandered and did not just stick in sentences. I think in some sentences you coud have been more specific like when you said that it slows it's motions when it sences humans. Other than that it was a great open responce

  2. Your response was awesome! I think Ben was right with how all your sentences just flowed together and that you stayed on topic. Although, you could've added more detail in some places. Other than that, you did a great job!

  3. This is really good Ryan! I agree with Brooke and Ben on how you stayed on topic. You summed together all of the important information and inluding some interesting facts. It is kind of cool how much technology has come over the past few years and like you said Baxter could become Dexter with the newest technology! It was a really good paragraph!
